A Grand Affair: Celebratory Music from England, Germany, Italy, and France

From Handel’s Water Music to opera excerpts by Vivaldi and Rameau, this program brings grandeur and glamour into the concert hall. It is music that glorifies kings, sultans, athletes, and virtuosi by the great composers of the Baroque era.

Experience the rich sounds of ÃÛÌÒAPP’s Historical Performance Practice program as students, faculty, and guest artists bring early music to life in Mixon Hall at the world-renowned Cleveland Institute of Music. This intimate 235-seat concert space features expansive glass walls and warm wood finishes, creating a jewel-box setting ideal for soloists and small ensembles, while offering guests a striking view of the Gilliam Music Garden.
