The Ohio Train Derailment podcast episode aired December 29th, 2025. The podcast begins with a conversation between Goodman and MA graduate Madison Scott. Scott's 2023 sociology thesis at Oklahoma State University explored community impacts of the disaster.

At 33:06 she shares Dr. Fred Schumacher's "very exciting research" on somatic mutation rate. She highlights the potential of this research as a way to measure the impact of chemical exposure to the body. She also draws attention to the impact of chemical exposure on infants and children.
