The New York Times (subscription required): Andrew Garner, clinical professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine, said a recent study about how strong parent-teen relationships can shape adult social connectedness “forces us to think developmentally,” challenging the idea that loneliness is simply a product of personal choices or adult social structures. The research found teens with strong family bonds were more than twice as likely to be socially connected later in life.
