Medicine's Xin Qi develops promising treatment for Parkinson's disease

Silber Professor of Brain Sciences at the School of Medicine, said her lab has developed a promising new Parkinson’s treatment targeting mitochondrial damage caused by toxic alpha-synuclein. She believes their custom peptide, CS2, could become a near-future therapy, noting it protects neurons by blocking the protein’s attack with minimal side effects.
