Dr. Amy Korsch will explore the critical role of early caregiving relationships in building the foundation for lifelong mental health during a lecture in the amphitheater at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, 2101 Adelbert Rd, Cleveland, OH 44106. Bagels and coffee will be served for all attendees. The lecture will also be streamed on Zoom.
Korsch will examine how everyday interactions between young children and their caregivers influence stress regulation, emotional resilience and social-emotional growth. The session highlights the crucial role pediatric providers play in identifying relational strengths and vulnerabilities during early childhood, supporting caregiver mental health and promoting co-regulation and responsive caregiving.
Dr. Korsch is a senior instructor at the Jack, Joseph & Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at ÃÛÌÒAPP. Her research and clinical expertise focus on promotive factors for positive social-emotional development in infants and young children as mechanisms for the prevention of intergenerational trauma transmission.
