The prevalence of youth mental health concerns has surged in recent years, reaching record highs. At the same time, artificial intelligence (AI) is being integrated into daily life and rapidly changing how youth learn, socialize, and interact with the world. This webinar will provide an overview of how youth are engaging with AI technologies, including chatbots, discuss the potential risks and developmental considerations associated with youth AI use, and explore potential ways that AI could be used safely and responsibly to support youth well-being.

Leanna Fortunato, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of Quality and Health Care Innovation at the American Psychological Association. Her work focuses on improving access to high-quality mental health care for children and adolescents, with an emphasis on digital mental health tools, measurement-based care, and the responsible use of emerging technologies to support youth well-being.
