In 2023, Lillian Kuri became the first female president and CEO of the Cleveland Foundation, stewarding the world’s oldest community foundation and one of the largest today with $3.9 billion in assets. A licensed architect with a background in urban planning, Kuri will share how the Cleveland Foundation is leading the field with boldness and innovation to meet today’s most pressing community challenges. Building on founder Frederick Goff’s vision of a permanent, collective resource for the public good, the foundation is reimagining place‑based philanthropy through catalytic moves, including its new headquarters in Hough and MidTown and the creation of new tools for impact beyond traditional grantmaking. Under Kuri’s leadership, the foundation’s Impact Agenda is aligning all resources toward a shared vision: a vibrant Northeast Ohio where every Clevelander is connected to the region’s progress. Her keynote will offer a forward‑looking view of how place-based philanthropy can continue to innovate, inspire, and build a stronger future for generations to come.
