SJD Degree Format
We offer the SJD in two formats: one for students who were educated outside the U.S., and one for U.S.-trained lawyers interested in health law. Depending on which degree you pursue, our SJD program typically lasts three to five years.

The SJD for internationally educated students will prepare you to return to your home country to work in academia or law reform for your government at the highest level. As a student, you’ll learn to conduct in-depth legal research within your chosen specialized field of study.
