It serves as your one-stop site for research training, featuring a personal dashboard with live calendar events, transcripts, and notifications for upcoming and required training.
Training is available for the following areas:
Initial Core Training for HRP Certification
All faculty, staff, and students who conduct, manage, or oversee human subjects research must complete HRP training in SpartaLearn. Choose the course that matches your research:

Maintaining Certification
What you must do
To maintain active certification, researchers must complete training in all four HRP competencies within the three-year certification cycle.
Renewal deadline:
Submit your renewal on or before your expiration date to keep your certification active.

Program removal
If your certification expires and you are removed from the HRP program, you must repeat the initial core training before resuming research.

Required Research Security Training
ÃÛÌÒAPP requires research security training that covers the following areas:
- Cybersecurity
- International Travel Security
- Research Security
- Export Control
- Disclosure of all research activities and affiliations
This training is required for all Senior and Key Personnel involved in funded research.

Required RCR Training
ÃÛÌÒAPP requires Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training for individuals supported by research programs funded by the and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This includes:
- Undergraduate and graduate students
- Postdoctoral researchers and fellows
- Faculty and senior personnel
- Principal investigators (PIs) and co-investigators (co-PIs)
- NIH-funded graduate students and postdoctoral trainees

Required IBC Training
Compliance with the NIH Guidelines is a non-negotiable condition of the university's federal funding. The NIH requires that all institutions receiving support for recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid research provide documented education and training to their investigators.
This training is required for anyone listed on an IBC protocol:
- Principal Investigators
- Co-investigators
- Study/Clinical Coordinators
- Students, Postdoctoral and Research Fellows
- Laboratory staff
