AI - Paid Services

Note: Consumer AI services, especially free ones, often collect the data you enter into them and use that data in their training models. This can lead to your data being made available via these AI services. Never put sensitive university information into an AI service if the university does not have a contract with the AI vendor with proper privacy and security safeguards. The university offers AI services that will protect your data. Use those services when sensitive information is involved.

GitHub Enterprise is the official university programming code repository available to the campus community at no additional cost. GitHub Copilot is an optional add-on that uses generative AI to assist developers with coding. GitHub Copilot includes access to the OpenAI Codex and Claude Code models. There is a per user per month fee. Contact the if you are interested. This service is available to faculty and staff.

Google offers an AI assistant that integrates with Google Workspace (i.e. Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive). Gemini for Google Workspace does things like summarize documents, compose documents, locate emails via natural language searches, create images in documents, etc. Gemini for Google Workspace also includes the "Advanced" version of the chatbot at with increased access to the latest Gemini models. Gemini includes a "Canvas" feature, an interactive, shareable workspace for the responses to your prompts, including working prototypes of code output. Google Gemini uses 3.0 Fast as its default large language model, with the option to select 3.0 Thinking and 3.0 Pro. It also includes the state-of-the-art video generation model Veo, Google Vids (an AI powered video creation tool) and NotebookLM Plus. UTech offers a "try before you buy" program by contacting the . The annual cost per person is $170. Note: the number of free to try licenses will be limited and distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Microsoft offers an AI assistant that integrates with Microsoft 365 (i.e. Microsoft Office). Microsoft 365 Copilot does things like summarize documents, compose documents, analyze Excel data, create PowerPoint presentations and more. There is even an AI agent to create videos which can then be edited in the Microsoft web application Clipchamp. The paid version of Copilot also offers access to specialty agents for research, analysis, and more and increased access to the latest models of OpenAI at the . UTech offers a "try before you buy" program by contacting the . The annual cost per person is $200. Note: the number of free to try licenses will be limited and distributed on a first come, first served basis.

UTech is able to provide access to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. All three offer advanced, cloud-based AI services, such as API access to thousands of open source and proprietary models. Faculty and staff can request access to these services which are billed back to a provided speedtype. UTech’s  has links to forms for faculty and staff to request access to these services.
